This Saturday’s “Harvest Classic” at Madera (Calif.) Speedway completes the 2013 Honda USAC Western Pavement Midget slate and Chad Nichols enters the race with a 13-point lead over Nick Chivello. Scot Pierovich is just 17 back and Dan Gundo is 21 back. Saturday’s race is co-sanctioned by BCRA.
Ronnie Gardner of Norco, Calif. continues to extend his Honda USAC Western Midget point lead as he sped to victory in Thursday night’s 30-lap “Gold Cup” feature at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif. Gardner and his Baldozier Racing/Esslinger Engineering Stewart led the final 22 laps after passing Johnathon Henry on lap nine. Series points runner-up Jake Swanson finished second ahead of Scott Pierovich, Matt Streeter and Henry.
The Honda USAC Western Dirt Midget series resumes September 21 at Bakersfield (Calif.) Speedway.
Chivello has won twice and Nichols once in the four races held so far this year at Madera.
